Regarding the first day of class...

"The students, like packhorses, plod slowly down the heavily trafficked hallways. They look as if they will steadfastly stand the burdens that will be laid upon them, with much courage and boredom. Stoic faces in each classroom, not enjoying, only waiting, seeking diversion from the weight that falls steadily upon their minds like a thick and heavy rain upon a soft bed of algae." (haha.)
